Change happens in a moment.
Sometimes, it’s a moment that arrives with no warning other than the space it leaves behind.
Other times, it’s a moment that may have taken years to flutter quietly into the light of your awareness.
But it’s always a magical moment.
Because no matter how it occurs, whether it falls, shatters, or gradually appears, there is always a space for you to realise that between the shadows and the tiny glimmer of light, you have grown.
It took me twenty years and a course in miracles before I realised I had been looking for my path in all the wrong places.
At times, it felt like I was tearing open the earth to look for the next step, unaware I was already standing in the answer.
It wasn't until I broke myself open a little wider that I realised this:
the light is not shining in the distance. It is shining from within you, illuminating the moment, guiding you wherever you choose to go.
And that’s the beautiful thing about growth.
You do not find it in the outside world.
It is not the job, the house, the numbers, likes and views.
It is here, within you, quietly working its magic, even when you are not aware; even when you feel stuck, or feel as though you’re repeating the same thing over and over again.
Growth is the tiny shift that occurs between looking at what appears to be unreachable and noticing the flowers blooming beneath your feet.
Throughout the dark, strange, and beautiful times of my life, I have learned that when you fall in love with where you already are, growth magically weaves its way in.
It was a slow realisation, a gentle noticing that expanded each time I recognised it.
During the darkest times, the lightest times, and the times it felt as though I was doing nothing at all—I was growing.
You may not feel as though you’re growing, but you are.
You may be looking for love in all the wrong places, staying when your body wants to leave, and leaving when your heart wants to stay, but you are growing.
You may be afraid to take the next step.
You may be waiting for the perfect moment, hiding yourself from the world, swallowing your truth until you know yourself better, but you are growing.
Even if your dream feels too high to reach and too far to climb towards, trust that there is always a deeper part of you quietly working in the background, seeking to illuminate another way through.
An easier way.
A way that is right for you, in this very moment and the next.
Because growth it not the beginning or the end, it is where you are now.
And if where you are now feels too frightening, know that the light will soon adjust and give you the courage to take a closer look.
This is the slow, and silent magic of growth.
It is for you, not against you.
“It’s okay if you’re not yet
where you want to be.
Remember: you don’t always notice
the sun rising in the sky until, one day,
you feel its warmth touching your face
and you realise how much you have
grown.”
Tender reminder:
The moment you recognise that the mistake you thought you made wasn’t a mistake after all but a chance to learn and transform, you have grown.
How to bring growth even closer to you
♡ Cultivate more presence in your life, more stillness, more gratitude for what you already have.
♡ Hold onto your dream, even in the moments of darkness, even when it feels unreachable, hold it close. Know that it will one day bloom.
♡ You are allowed to let go of all that you’re holding. You are allowed to rest until the moon becomes full again.
♡ Find pockets of stillness and turn inwards. When you can look at yourself in ways you haven't looked before, you will notice that where you are is always where you're meant to be.
♡ Let go of the concept of perfection. You are enough in every moment, and you will grow in the most authentic way when you start from where you already are.
♡ Breathe a little deeper, sigh for a little longer. Life may seem heavy right now, but your breath carries within it the force of life. Allow yourself to follow it.
♡ Open a new page in your journal and write down exactly how you want to feel. You may not know where you’re heading or who you truly are right now, but you have the power to choose how you wish to feel along the way.
♡ Dance with discomfort a little more often. Even if it’s just for a minute each day—try to feel and welcome whatever is arising within you.
♡ Embrace the uniqueness of you. When you accept and love who you are in your entirety, you are creating a tiny miracle.
A quote for you:
“I’ve always been absolutely terrified every single moment of my life….and I’ve never let it stop me from doing a single thing I wanted to do.”
― Georgia O’Keeffe
A lesson I’ve been reflecting upon lately:
The more precise you are about what you want to manifest, and the more you dedicate the time to visualise what you want to manifest, the more likely you are to manifest it because your thoughts, actions, and behaviours will align with it.
